A Glimpse into the Career of Afzal Zubair-Product Owner at Conzia
Today, we will talk to Afzal Zubair, who is a Product Owner here at Conzia. In this short conversation, we’ll try to figure out his passion for coding and how he started his journey in the industry of conversational commerce.
Afzal, thanks for taking time for us for this talk.
We would like to know more about you.
Afzal,
I am a graduate of Computer Science from IBA Karachi. Before joining graduate school, I never thought that I would be writing code one day. Starting from zero knowledge about software, I have developed a keen interest in technology in the last few years. My passion for coding and AI conversational commerce brought me to Conzia after a series of assessments. Thankfully, it’s been a great learning curve for me from day one at Conzia. Other than work, I love playing badminton and reading tech-related blogs.
Why did you choose a tech start-up and hard work over a relaxed 9 to 5 job?
Afzal,
I believe that working for a start-up provides you ample learning and growing opportunities, and I wanted to avail all of those opportunities. Coding is my passion, and the mission of Conzia truly matches my vision, so then what a better place than Conzia could it be to polish my skills?
Another reason that motivated me to prefer a start-up is the working environment at Conzia. There are no hierarchies, no sir culture, no politics, and rules for doing the things just because the boss wants to do them that way.
What did you like the most at Conzia?
Afzal,
I would say the mission and the industry of Conzia. The start-up’s vision is to help customers’ support teams by providing them with one platform for managing billions of customer conversations. I really like that we are working to make everyone’s shopping experience more convenient and satisfactory by building up an AI-based conversational channel for online businesses.
How has been your journey after joining Cozia?
Afzal,
It’s been a roller coaster but with just highs till yet. I really believe in working hard, and I like that it is in the DNA of Conzia that the company promotes and encourages hard work. Being part of a small and international team is fun, and I really enjoy my work at Conzia.
What have you learned so far in this job?
Afzal,
I have learned a lot about management and leadership during my time at Conzia. In technologies, I learned, for example, Next.js framework, AWS, socket.io, and many more things. In general, it has been a lot of learning in the last few months, and I really like that my demanding job at Conzia really pushed me to come out of my comfort zone and learn new things at an insane speed.
